एक दिन पत्नी का अच्छा मूड देख,
           मौके का भरपूर फायदा उठाया,
बरसों से दिमाग में उठते सवाल को,
           बहुत हिम्मत से पत्नी के सामने उठाया।

मैंने कहा, प्रिय एक राज की बात बताना...
            साफ बताना, कुछ भी तो न छुपाना,
एक सवाल करता हमें परेशान है..
             इस बात से सारे मर्द बहुत हलकान है।

पत्नी ने आँखे तरेरी, भौहें चढाई..
             मैं डरा अब बस होने वाली है लड़ाई,
लेकिन पत्नी ने कुछ दया दिखाई..
             पूछने के लिए अपनी सहमति दर्शाई।

मैंने कहा कि एक बात बताओ..
             इस राज से पर्दा आज उठाओ।

👉नारियाँ क्यों सदा एक ही पति चाहती है
👉सातों जन्म उसी पति पर हक जताती है
👉क्या हम इतने प्यारे हैं जो हम पर मरती हो
👉हमें सदा पाने को सब इतने व्रत करती हो

सुनकर पत्नी कुटिलता से मुस्कुराई..... 😊
           अपना मुँह खोलकर बतीसी चमकाई।
बोली आप से क्या अनर्गल कह रहे हो..
            कौन सी मूर्खों की दुनिया में रह रहे हो।

मेरे पिया ये प्यार नहीं समझदारी है
            इसके पीछे ये ही सोच हमारी है
एक जन्म में तुम्हे गधे से इंसान बनाया है
            कूट- पीट के तुम्हे जोरु का गुलाम बनाया है।

अब जो हर जन्म में नया पति पाएँगे...
           तो उसे सुधारने में फिर जन्म गवाएँगे,
ये सोचकर ही हम वो ही पति चाहती हैं,
            कैसा भी हो, सात जन्म उस पर हक जताती है...।

          मैं समझ गया ये
                 प्यार नहीं होशियारी है,
          सदा याद रखो
                 नर पर नारी भारी है..!!

What is the meaning of pin drop silence?

Following are some instances when silence could speak louder than voice.

Take 1:

Field Marshal Sam Bahadur Maneckshaw once started addressing a public meeting at Ahmedabad in English.

The crowd started chanting, "Speak in Gujarati.  

We will hear you only if you speak in Gujarati."
Field Marshal Sam Bahadur Maneckshaw stopped.
Swept the audience with a hard stare and replied,

"Friends, I have fought many a battle in my long career.
I have learned Punjabi from men of the Sikh Regiment;
Marathi from the Maratha Regiment;
Tamil from the men of the Madras Sappers;
Bengali from the men of the Bengal Sappers,
Hindi from the Bihar Regiment; and
Even Nepali from the Gurkha Regiment.  

Unfortunately there was no soldier from Gujarat from whom I could have learned Gujarati."...

Robert Whiting,
an elderly US gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.

At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.

"You have been to France before, Monsieur ?", the Customs officer asked sarcastically.

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.

"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."

The American said,
"The last time I was here,
I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible.
Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !", the Customs officer sneered.

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long, hard look.

Then he quietly explained

"Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach,
at 4:40am, on D-Day in 1944, to help liberate your country, I couldn't find a single Frenchman to show a passport to.... "

Take 3:

Soon after getting freedom from British rule in 1947, the de-facto prime minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru called a meeting of senior Army Officers to select the first General of the Indian army.

Nehru proposed, "I think we should appoint a British officer as a General of The Indian Army, as we don't have enough experience to lead the same."
Having learned under the British, only to serve and rarely to lead, all the civilians and men in uniform present nodded their heads in agreement.

However one senior officer, Nathu Singh Rathore, asked for permission to speak.

Nehru was a bit taken aback by the independent streak of the officer, though, he asked him to speak freely.

Rathore said, "You see, sir, we don't have enough experience to lead a nation too, so shouldn't we appoint a British person as the first Prime Minister of India?"

You could hear a pin drop.


After a pregnant pause, Nehru asked Rathore,
"Are you ready to be the first General of The Indian Army?"..

Rathore declined the offer saying "Sir, we have a very talented army officer, my senior, Gen. Cariappa, who is the most deserving among us."

This is how the brilliant Gen. Cariappa became the first General and Rathore the first ever Lt. General of the Indian Army.

इंगलैण्ड की राजधानी लंदन में यात्रा के दौरान एक शाम महाराजा जयसिंह सादे कपड़ों में बॉन्ड स्ट्रीट में घूमने के लिए निकले और वहां उन्होने रोल्स रॉयस कम्पनी का भव्य शो रूम देखा और मोटर कार का भाव जानने के लिए अंदर चले गए। शॉ रूम के अंग्रेज मैनेजर ने उन्हें “कंगाल भारत” का सामान्य नागरिक समझ कर वापस भेज दिया। शोरूम के सेल्समैन ने भी उन्हें बहुत अपमानित किया, बस उन्हें “गेट आऊट” कहने के अलावा अपमान करने में कोई कोर कसर नहीं छोड़ी।अपमानित महाराजा जयसिंह वापस होटल पर आए और रोल्स रॉयस के उसी शोरूम पर फोन लगवाया और संदेशा कहलवाया कि अलवर के महाराजा कुछ मोटर कार खरीदने चाहते हैं।
 कुछ देर बाद जब महाराजा रजवाड़ी पोशाक में और अपने पूरे दबदबे के साथ शोरूम पर पहुंचे तब तक शोरूम में उनके स्वागत में “रेड कार्पेट” बिछ चुका था। वही अंग्रेज मैनेजर और सेल्समेन्स उनके सामने नतमस्तक खड़े थे। महाराजा ने उस समय शोरूम में पड़ी सभी छ: कारों को खरीदकर, कारों की कीमत के साथ उन्हें भारत पहुँचाने के खर्च का भुगतान कर दिया।
 भारत पहुँच कर महाराजा जयसिंह ने सभी छ: कारों को अलवर नगरपालिका को दे दी और आदेश दिया कि हर कार का उपयोग (उस समय के दौरान 8320 वर्ग कि.मी) अलवर राज्य में कचरा उठाने के लिए किया जाए।
 विश्‍व की अव्वल नंबर मानी जाने वाली सुपर क्लास रोल्स रॉयस कार नगरपालिका के लिए कचरागाड़ी के रूप में उपयोग लिए जाने के समाचार पूरी दुनिया में फैल गया और रोल्स रॉयस की इज्जत तार-तार हुई। युरोप-अमरीका में कोई अमीर व्यक्‍ति अगर ये कहता “मेरे पास रोल्स रॉयस कार” है तो सामने वाला पूछता “कौनसी?” वही जो भारत में कचरा उठाने के काम आती है! वही?
बदनामी के कारण और कारों की बिक्री में एकदम कमी आने से रोल्स रॉयस कम्पनी के मालिकों को बहुत नुकसान होने लगा। महाराज जयसिंह को उन्होने क्षमा मांगते हुए टेलिग्राम भेजे और अनुरोध किया कि रोल्स रॉयस कारों से कचरा उठवाना बन्द करवावें। माफी पत्र लिखने के साथ ही छ: और मोटर कार बिना मूल्य देने के लिए भी तैयार हो गए।
 महाराजा जयसिंह जी को जब पक्‍का विश्‍वास हो गया कि अंग्रेजों को वाजिब बोधपाठ मिल गया है तो महाराजा ने उन कारों से कचरा उठवाना बन्द करवाया !                  अब जरा सोचो मेरे दोस्त, यदि हम सभी भारत वासी चीन निर्मित सामानों का बहिष्कार कर दें तो चीन को भी घुटने टेकना पड़ जायेगा।

સુરતી ભાષાની મજાનો અનુભવ વાંચીને કરો

સુધ્ધ અને ટાજી હૂરટી ભાસાની હુવાસ

સંસ્કારનગરી વડોદરાના વૈષ્ણવજન મીતકુમારે યુવાનીના ઉંબરે પગરણ માંડયાં...
કન્યાઓ જોવાનું શરૂ કર્યું. બેટર ચોઈસ અને વાઈડ સિલેક્શન માટે એમણે..
'ડક્સીન ગુજરાટ'ના સુરત શહેર તરફ નજર દોડાવી,

કુંડળી મેચ થઈ. પરિવારો અનુકૂળ હતા એટલે મીતકુમાર કન્યાને સુરત જોવા જવા નીકળ્યા...

સરનામું કતારગામ રોડનું હતું.
પણ રિક્ષાવાળાને 'ટ્રનેક' વાર સમજાવ્યું ત્યારે એ બોલ્યો, "એમ કેવની ટારે કે કટાળગામ ળોડ પર જવું છ."
છેવટે રિક્સાવાળાએ બરાબર 'થેકાને' પહોંચાડયા.

ભાવિ સસરાની એક જ શરત હતી,
"પોયરો કાંડા-લહણ ખાટો ની જોઈએ."
એટલે..
મીતકુમારે પોતે કાંદા લસણ ખાય છે
એ છુપાવવાનું હતું.

ભાવિ સસરાના ઘરે ડોરબેલ વગાડતાં બારણાના જાળિયાનું તાળું ખોલી જમાઈને આવકારવામાં આવ્યા.
સસરા તાડુક્યા "બાન્ને ટાલું મારી ડે.
ભિખારી અંડર ઘૂસી આવે ચ. બીજા ભિખારી ની આવી જાય."

આવા સન્માન પછી સસરાએ ઘરનોકરને કહ્યું,
"ડોફા! હોફા હાફ કરની ટો જમાઈરાજની પૂંઠે બઢી હૂરટની ઢૂલ લાગી જહે."

હોફા હાફ થીયો એટલે જમાઈએ પૂંઠ ટેકવી.

સસરાએ કિચન તરફ જોઈ બૂમ પાડી,

"ઈંડુ ટૈયાર છે?"

મીતકુમાર હચમચી ગયા.
વાત તો થઈ હતી કે કાંદા લસણનો બાધ છે અને આ લોકો સવારની પહોરમાં ઇંડુ પીરસવાની વાત કરતા હતા.

મીતકુમારને થયું કે સસરા એની પરીક્ષા લઈ રહ્યા છે
એટલે મીતકુમાર બને તેટલી શાંતિથી બોલ્યા,

"ઈંડુ મને પસંદ નથી. એક્ચ્યુઅલી અમારા આખા પરિવારમાં કોઈને ઇંડુ ન ચાલે!"

સસરા 'અકરાયા', "અરે!
ઇંડુ પસંડ ની મલે તો હું કામ હૂરટ હુઢી લામ્બા ઠિયા?"

આ સંવાદ સાંભળી સાસુજી બહાર ઘસી આવ્યાં,

"ફોતો ને કુન્દલી જોઈને ના ની પાળી ડેવાય?
આ રીટે અમારા પળિવાળની ફજેટી કળવાની?"

મીતકુમારને સમજાયું નહીં કે સવારની પહોરમાં ઇંડુ ખાવાની ના પાડવાથી કોઈ પરિવારની ફજેતી કેવી રીતે થાય!

છતાં મીતકુમાર બોલ્યા,"સોરી!"

સસરા હજુ ગુસ્સામાં હતા, "તમારી સોળીની હું અમારે હોળી કરવાની?
ગ્નાટીના મેરામાં અમે કેયું કે અમને 'મીટ' ચાલહે..

તો ટમારાં મમ્મી પપ્પાએ બી કેયું કે અમારે 'ઇંડુ' ચાલહે, પછી હવે હેના પલટી મારો!"

બે વૈષ્ણવ વેવાઈએ વચ્ચે એગ અને મટન ચાલે એવો સંવાદ થાય એ મીતકુમારની અલ્પબુદ્ધિ માટે કલ્પના બહારનું હતું...

સસરાએ હાથ જોડયા,
"ઇંડુ તૈયાર છે હવે જોઈ ટો લેવ!"

મીતકુમારને થયું કે ઇંડુ ખાવામાં બાધ છે,
જોવામાં નથી. એટલે હકારસૂચક હા પાડી.

સસરાને 'શાન'ના શાકાલ ની જેમ 'ત્રન ટાલી' પાડી એટલે એક સુંદર કન્યા ટ્રે લઈ આવી...

ટ્રેની અંદરનો ખાદ્ય પદાર્થ જોતાં મીતકુમારને થયું કે ઇંડા લંબગોળને બદલે ગોળ કેમ છે?
ત્યાં જ સાસુ બોલ્યાં, "મોં મીથું કરો!"
ચોંક્યા,
'સ્વીટ એગ્સ?'
સૂગ કરતાં ક્યુરિયોસિટી વધી જતાં મીતકુમારે એ
ગોળાકાર 'ઇંડા'ને પકડી સૂંઘી જોયું.

સસરાએ ખુલાસો કર્યો, "રસગુલ્લા છે."

બોલ્યા, "તમે તો ઈંડુ ઇંડુ કરતાં હતા ને!"

સાસુએ કહ્યું, "ટે આ રેઈ અમારી ઇંડુ ઉર્ફે ઇંડ્રાવટી,

ટમે જેને નિહારવા આવ્યા ટે ટમારી હામ્મે ઊભી!"

મીતકુમારે આદુંવટી અને ઘનવટી જોઈ હતી પણ ઇંડ્રાવટી પહેલી વાર જોઈ.

એ ઇંદ્રાવતીના રૂપના પ્રકાશમાં એકસાથે બધી ટયુબલાઇટ ઝબકી.

સસરાજી 'ઇંડુ તૈયાર છે?' નહીં પણ'ઇન્દુ તૈયાર છે?' એમ પૂછતા હતા. અને પોતે એમ કહ્યું કે અમારા પરિવારમાં 'ઇંડુ' ન ચાલે ત્યારે આ હૂરટીઓ 'ઇન્દુ' ન ચાલે એમ સમજ્યા હતા..
અને સસરા અમને 'મીટ' ચાલહે એમ કહીને 'મીત પસંદ છે' એવું કહેવું હતું!

કેટરીના અને દીપિકાને હંફાવે એવી ઇન્દુને જોઈને અને આ સ્પષ્ટતા થતાં મીતકુમારનો શ્વાસ હેઠો બેઠો.

ત્યાં જ સસરાજી બોલ્યા, "તમારા શાળા ટુસાર સાળામાં ભનાવવા ગિયા છે, સીકસક છે.
એ આવી જાય એટલે..
ચીકનપૂરી ખાઈ લઈએ."

મીતકુમારે ચીકનપૂરી નામની વાનગી લંચમાં ખાવાની કલ્પના નહોતી કરી.

પણ ના કેવી રીતે પાડવી?

એ તો શીખંડપૂરી પીરસાયાં ત્યારે જ ખબર પડી કે વાનગી પ્રાણીજન્ય હતી પણ વર્જ્ય નહોતી.

અંટે મીટે કહી ડીઢુ કે મને ઈંડુ પસંડ છે.

મુખવાસમાં સસરાજીએ પોટાના વિસાર અનુભવના આઢારે કવિટા હંભરાવી.

પન્ની ને પહટાય ટો કે'ટો ની
વાહણ જો અઠડાય ટો કે'ટો ની
હમનાં ટો કે'ટો છે,
પાંપન પર ઊંચકી લેંઉ
પછી માથે ચડી જાય ટો કે'ટો ની
હમનાં ટો પ્યાર જાને રેહમની ડોરી
એના પર લૂગડાં હૂકવાય ટો કે'ટો ની
એની આંખોના આભમાં પંખીના ટોરાં
પછી ડોળાં ડેખાય ટો કે'ટો ની
હમ ટુમ ઔર ટનહાઈ,
બઢું ઠીક મારા ભાઈ
પછી પોયરા અઠ્ઠાઇ તો કેટોની
કે'ટો ની...

*Philosophy of Mahabharata*

It is said in the texts that 80% of the fighting male population of the civilization was wiped out in the eighteen days Mahabharata war.

Sanjay, at the end of the war went to the spot where the greatest war took place; Kurukshetra.

He looked around and wondered if the war really happened, if the ground beneath him had soaked all that blood, if the great Pandavas and Krishna stood where he stood.

“You will never know the truth about that!” said an aging soft voice.

Sanjay turned around to find an Old man in saffron robes appearing out of a column of dust.

“I know you are here to find out about the Kurukshetra war, but *you cannot know about that war till you know what the real war is about*.” the Old man said enigmatically.

“What do you mean?”

“*The Mahabharata is an Epic, a ballad, perhaps a reality, but definitely a philosophy*.”

The Old man smiled luring Sanjay into more questions.

“Can you tell me what the philosophy is then?”
Sanjay requested.

Sure, began the Old man.

“*The Pandavas are nothing but your five senses*, sight, smell, taste, touch and sound..., and do you know what the Kauravas are?”
he asked narrowing his eyes.

“*The Kauravas are the hundred vices that attack your senses everyday but you can fight them*... and do you know how?”

Sanjay shook his head again.

“When Krishna rides your chariot!”

The Old man smiled brighter and Sanjay gasped at that gem of insight.

“*Krishna is your inner voice, your soul, your guiding light and if you let your life in his hands you have nothing to worry*.”

Sanjay was stupefied but came around quickly with another question.
“Then *why are Dronacharya and Bhishma fighting for the Kauravas, if they are vices*?”

The Old man nodded, sadder for the question.

“It just means that as you grow up, your perception of your elders change. *The elders who you thought were perfect in your growing up years are not all that perfect. They have faults. And one day you will have to decide if they are for your good or your bad.
Then you may also realize that you may have to fight them for the good. It is the hardest part of growing up and that is why the Geeta is important*.”

Sanjay slumped down on the ground, not because he was tired but because he could understand and was struck by the enormity of it all.

“*What about Karna*?” he whispered.

“Ah!” said the Old man. “You have saved the best for last. *Karna is the brother to your senses, he is desire, he is a part of you but stands with the vices. He feels wronged and makes excuses for being with the vices as your desire does all the time.*

*Does your desire not give you excuses to embrace vices*?”

Sanjay nodded silently. He looked at the ground, consumed with a million thoughts, trying to put everything together and then when he looked up the Old man was gone.... disappeared in the column of dust.........
